THREE-THREE-THREE RESIDENCES
LOS ANGELES, CAThis housing project proposes a small-scale, ownership-oriented residential model organized around a shared communal core. A mix of walk-up apartments is arranged into two diverging residential bars that frame a semi-private courtyard, creating a protected outdoor space for gathering, play, and everyday social life. Each unit is organized around its own circulation core, reinforcing a sense of individual ownership while accommodating a range of household sizes within a cohesive architectural form.
Shared amenities and workspaces are concentrated at the point where the building converges, acting as a social hinge between private dwellings and collective activity. Subtle manipulation of the ground plane introduces sectional variation, extending living spaces outward through patios, balconies, and terraces, and strengthening the relationship between interior, landscape, and community.
